Are You Single?

How do unmarrieds fill their lives and how do they relate to the rest of the “Body”? This is a question many singles are asking in the church today.
We find the answer in I Corinthians 7:32-35. Verse 34 says, “The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and spirit.”
Paul also was unmarried. When he says, “It is good for them that they abide even as I,” he means it is good that they remain free of family responsibility. He says that because of the urgency of the work to be done.
There is no shame in being “unattached”. The problem, of course, is that so many unmarried people become self-centered and bitter. Many even become foolish and unbalanced in their personality. The reason this happens is because they are not giving of themselves to others.
The unmarried must pursue Christ to fill every vacuum in his/her life. If unmarrieds pursue Christ wholeheartedly and allow His love to flow through them, they will become a blessing and wellspring of life to others. They will be unable to become embittered or self-centered.
One of the greatest keys to happiness in life is learning to give of yourself.
Remember, the unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord. She is not to be constantly looking for a husband. She is to have her energies directed toward the Lord. She is to be a blessing to others in the Body.
It is the man who is to seek the Lord and look for a wife. Proverbs 18:22 says, “Whoso findeth a wife, findeth a good thing and obtaineth favor of the Lord.” Ladies, we are to let them find us!
Decide today to be a well adjusted, happy adult….whether single or married. Let your happiness depend on the Lord, not on another human.
