Pastor Anne Gimenez to Become Bishop

Perhaps as an indication of things to come, when she was 19 years old, Anne Gimenez was ordained to preach the Gospel. Since then God has called her to be a “forerunner” in nearly every area of ministry she has ever touched. From those early days as an Evangelist and a Teacher, to Rock Church where she has served as a Senior Pastor and Prophet, Anne Gimenez has blazed a path for all those whom God has called to tear down walls of separation. Now, final preparations are under way for the 2008 Rock Ministerial Fellowship (RMF) May Convention where a lifetime of ministry will culminate with Pastor Anne being consecrated as Bishop and Overseer of RMF. According to RMF bylaws, Dr. Gimenez has been the acting overseer of Rock Ministerial Fellowship since the home going of her husband, Bishop John Gimenez in February. The Consecration Ceremony will be a historic occasion not only for RMF but also for the Church around the world as Pastor Anne Gimenez joins the ranks of other Woman leaders who have lead large denominations and groups of churches. It also marks a milestone at Rock Church as Pastor Anne assumes the mantle and title of Apostle and Bishop.

A sense of excitement and anticipation have gripped the Church family as the realization dawns that we are in a transition and God is moving us on to a new and wondrous time of His blessings.

Scheduled speakers for the Convention include Rev. Tommy Bates, Rev. Phil Cappuccio, Dr. David Minor and noted historian, Dr. Vinson Synan. Special Music will be provided by Worship leader Ricky Hilton and others. Services start Sunday May 4th and go through Wednesday May 7th. On Tuesday, May 6th at 7 p.m., Pastor Anne will be “set in” as Bishop of the Rock Ministerial Fellowship with a reception immediately following in the Planet Rock Sanctuary. Wednesday evening there will be an ordination ceremony of RMF Pastors. Throughout the Convention, there will be special teaching sessions with Dr. Synan, Dr. Lynn Lucas and others.

Reverend Phil Cappuccio was eighteen years old when he gave his heart to Jesus and it wasn’t long before God called him to full time ministry. Since that time, God has formed him into a vessel fit for His use. The consistent word of the Lord over his life has been the call of an Apostle, Prophet and Teacher to the body of Christ in exactly that order. Pastor Philip has an Apostle’s vision, a Prophet’s cry, a Teacher’s insight into the scriptures and a shepherd’s heart.

Reverend Tommy Bates is the Senior Pastor of Community Pentecostal Church in Independence, KY. Rev. Bates is an accomplished piano player, vocalist, and song writer and has a unique calling of God to bridge the gap of separation between “that which was” and “that which is” in the full-gospel movement. Pastor Bates is highly sought-after crusade and conference speaker with a mighty anointing.

Dr. David Minor Sr. is the founder of the Gospel Tabernacle Church in Coudersport, Pennsylvania where he has served as the Senior Pastor for over 50 years. Dr. Minor’s fatherly wisdom and guidance has raised up many great men and women of God, and earned him the recognition of the “shepherd’s shepherd.” Recognized as a Pastor, Apostle and Prophet, Minor’s vision and passion is to see future generations equipped to impact the world for Christ.

Other speakers include Author and Pastor, Dr. Lynn Lucas from Elwood, New York and noted Church historian Dr. Vinson Synan.

Dr. Lucas is the co-founder of Fountainhead Congregation and co-author of "No Longer a Victim", a book that explores ways to help those are suffering from different forms of abuse and addiction.

Dr. Vinson Synan is a recognized historian with a Ph.D. in history and is currently Dean of the School of Divinity at Regent University. Before that he served as a pastor and as the General Secretary of the Pentecostal Holiness denomination. Dr. Synan is an author and he has also served as founder and president of the Society for Pentecostal Studies. He currently serves as a member of the Executive Committee of the International Charismatic Consultation on World Evangelization and he’s also Chairman of the North American Renewal Services Committee.

Special music will be provided by Praise & Worship Leader Ricky Hilton. Additional music will be provided by Minister Tammie Bennett and Joy Windham. Bennett, a staff Pastor at Rock Church, is over ‘Kids on the Rock”, a vibrant youth ministry reaching out to preteens.

Rock Ministerial Fellowship was started by Bishop John Gimenez and is an “apostolic ministry” with more than 500 churches around the world. RMF is committed to fulfilling the purposes of God by equipping people from the “cradle to the grave”. Bishop’s vision of a family of churches where relationships are developed, a “covering” is provided and where unity is promoted will continue under Bishop Anne Gimenez. RMF’s mission to “plant” new congregations and to build churches of Prayer, Worship, Healing and Restoration will go forward as the Lord leads.

Anne Gimenez worked as an evangelist before marrying former drug addict John Gimenez in 1967. After an appearance on The 700 Club in 1968, John and Anne Gimenez founded the Rock Church, now a vibrant ministry with outreaches throughout Virginia, the United States and around the world. Dr. Anne Gimenez will remain as Senior Pastor of Rock Church.

Considered a role model and a pioneer among women in Christian leadership, doors of opportunity continue to open for Pastor Gimenez. As a lover of the Word of God, her unique style of preaching and God’s anointing is drawing viewers everywhere and breaking new ground as the Church grows and evolves. Her Television and Internet ministry are expanding and Anne Gimenez Ministries can now be seen around the world. A 24 hour prayer line is handling hundreds of calls a week with much fruit for the Kingdom of God.

All services will be held at Rock Church, 640 Kempsville Road, Virginia Beach, Virginia and are free and open to the public. For information call 1.757.495.5200 or go to pastoranne.org for specific times and speakers. If you are unable to attend, we will be “streaming” each service live. Just click on the “Live Webcast” icon in the upper left corner of pastoranne.org. Don’t miss this exciting time of worship, teaching and fellowship as we move on in God!
